| Australiankelpie TK1 Hyvänenaika Herranterttu "Hertta" & Hurtta Trail Pack |
Meille saapui tänään testattavaksi Hurtan koiran reppu Hurtta Trail Pack (suuri kiitos Hurtalle tästä!). Koko oli small (toinen vaihtoehto on M, joka on isommille koirille kuten kultaisillenoutajille sekä saksanpaimenkoirille) ja tuotetiedoissa luki, että sopii esimerkiksi beaglelle, espanjanvesikoiralle, snautserille sekä shetlanninlammaskoiralle. Ensivaikutelma tuotteesta on erittäin hyvä! En kuitenkaan ole samaa mieltä, että S-koon reppu sopii kokonsa vuoksi shetlanninlammaskoiralle. Kuvassa reppu on minun 15-kiloisella, agilityssä maxiksi mitatulla kelpiellä. Sille se on just passeli!
Our new doggy backpack the Hurtta Trail Pack arrived for testing today (thank you Hurtta Collection for picking us to be testers!). It was the small size one (the other is medium for larger breeds such as golden retrievers and German shepherds) and the product card read that it should fit breeds such as beagles, Spanish water dogs and Shetland sheepdogs. The first impression of the product is high-class! I might not agree with the fact that this would be comfortable on a Shetland sheepdog. Pictured in these photos is my 15 kg Australian kelpie who has been measured as a maxi dog in agility. The small size pack it perfect for her!

Kaikki ketkä Hertan tuntevat tietävät, että se suorastaan vihaa kaikkea mikä peittää yhtään enempää koiran "pinta-alasta" kuin kaulapanta. Siksi hämmästyin suuresti, kun Hertta ei ainoastaan suostunut liikkumaan repun kanssa vaan leikki ja riehui heti välittämättä siitä yhtään!
Everyone who knows Hertta, knows that she hates everything that is more "restrictive" then a normal collar. That's why I was thrilled that Hertta not only moved freely with -but ran with and had fun the very first time she had the pack on!

Koska nämä kuvat ovat ensimmäiseltä kerralta, kun Hertalla oli tuote päällä, keskityin tarkastelemaan suunnittelua ja istuvuutta. Kaikki kiinnitysremmit ovat erikseen säädeltäviä ja näin saa hyvän ja napakan istuvuuden. Sekä repuissa että valjaissa on erilliset 3M heijastimet. Selässä on kahva, josta voi auttaa koiraa hankalissa paikoissa. Oletin, että tämä oma "herkkä-haukkuni" reagoisi lähelle vyötäröä tulevaan takavyöhön, mutta mitään ongelmia ei ollut! Tämä on siis koira, joka on kieltänyt LIIKKUMASTA joidenkin valjaiden kanssa, jotka on kokenut ahdistavaksi! Siksi olen erityisen tyytyväinen Hertan suhtautumiseen tähän tuotteeseen!
All of these photos are from the first time Hertta had the Trail Pack on, so I chose to concentrate on the design and build quality. All the straps are adjustable and will ensure a snug fit. Both the packs and the harness itself have 3M reflectors for visibility. There is a handle on the top for giving your 4-legged friend a helping hand. I was expecting my "princess" to throw a hissy fit regarding the back strap that comes around the waist area, but she had no problem with it what-so-ever! Now this is a dog who has sometimes refused to MOVE with some harnesses, so this is huge!

Hurtta Trail Packin etuosa on leveä, pehmeä ja tukeva. Pikkusen mietityttää, onko se etujalkojen välistä jopa liian leveä, mutta Hertta tosin on aika kapea edestä, Liikkumista se ei ainakaan haitannut ollenkaan! Kaikki ompeleet ovat siistit. Noi etuosassa olevat vaaleanhopeat koristeet ovat myös heijastimet.Valjaiden sisäpuolelta löytyy alue, mihin saa hyvin kirjoitettua puhelinnumeron, jotta eksynyt retkeilijä saadaan tarvittaessa kotiin.
The front of the harness ia wide, soft and sturdy. I wonder if it is slightly too wide in the part that goes between the front legs. But then again, Hertta is a bit on the narrow side there. It certainly didn't bother her during movement though! All the stitches are clean and well done.The silvery grey triangles on the chest are also reflectors. On the inside of the harness there is a place to write down your phone number in the case that you lose your friend during a hike.

First impression: highly promising! I'll update with a part 2, once we get a chance to actually test this on a hike!
